Public Health and epidemics in Fortaleza (1850-1880)

Abstract

This article intends to reflect on the problematization of the conditions of the health of the capital and the public health measures put in place by the authorities, with a view to improving the health situation in the period between the years 1850 and 1880, a time when the city faces strong outbreaks epidemics of yellow fever, cholera and smallpox.
