Abstract

This article aims to elaborate some reflections on art and gender issues, emphasizing the production of contemporary women artists in Fortaleza-CE. In a brief historical retrospective, we approach the construction of roles for women in the field of art and some aspects related to the condition of the woman artist. Then, we analyze the impact of feminism on the fine arts and how the work of art that creates languages and meanings promotes a relational web by dialoguing with problematized aspects in public policies that deal with gender issues.
