Abstract

The article deals with some issues that have assumed prominence in public safety policy in Ceará, with the creation and implementation of the Program Quarter Round (in the Military Police), government Cid Gomes (2007-2010), called the “police of good neighborliness.” The same approaches adopted community policing or the like in close proximity to the population. In this context, we highlight the strengths and tensions experienced between new and old model of thinking and doing police, highlighting concerns and views vary among different groups of police.
