Social implications of hemodialytic treatment in the life of young people with chronic renal disease
Abstract
Renal disease is one of the pathologies whose indexes have been increasing over the years, causing, even, an increase in the number of young individuals undergoing dialysis treatment. It is based on the conception that the hemodialysis treatment causes significant variations in the life of the young, related to both physical and psychosocial aspects. Thus, the present research sought to understand the social implications of hemodialysis treatment in the life of the young invested by chronic kidney disease. This is an exploratory study with a qualitative approach and performed at the Kidney Unit of the University Hospital of the Federal University of Maranhão - Presidente Dutra Unit. The reflection showed that the impacts of hemodialysis in the social sphere of life of young people with chronic kidney disease are significant.
