Care Pratices, Buen Vivir and Public Polices – Instigations to Broaden their Understanding

Abstract

This article proposes to carry out one first approach on Care and Buen Vivir categories, based on basic bibliographical references. It includes daily observations of the Portuguese terms cuidar and cuidado, and the innumerable meanings attributed to them in everyday life. Then, a link is made between those categories and Public Policies, considering that this one is the concretization of practices of care or carelessness, as well as turning or not to the reach of Buen Vivir. This is a bibliographical study, in dialogue with the authors’ reflections. The text also announces possibilities for continuity of studies and incidence, taking as axes the three basic categories of this first approach.
