The impacts of the Law on Access to Information in the transparency policy of the Brazilian Senate
Abstract
This paper analyzes the impact of the Law on Access to Information in the transparency policy of the Brazilian Senate and map the demands of citizens. The methodology combined two procedures: (a) in-depth interviews with the actors responsible for transparency projects of the Senate; (c) analysis of official documents on the implementation and project management of political transparency and the Senate reports on the impact of the Law on Access to Information. The focus of social demands on administrative information, such as compensation of servers, overtime expenses, official travel and airline tickets. This shows that the accountability required by society goes beyond the political activities of senators and legislative agenda.
