The municipal security management process

Abstract

The article analyses the role of local government in public security. Its main focus is the management process of multidimensional preventive policies, in recent experiences of Brazilian municipalities. As a contribution for the improvement of the studied management models, it provides the description of a new one, called integrated management matrix for the public security policies.
