The care of newborn patients performed by the aeromedical service: a scoping review

Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to describe, through a literature review, the needs found for the neonatal patient to receive the aeromedical service and what is its impact. Methodology: a “scoping review” was carried out, with the selection of 06 studies published from 2006 to 2020. With the mapping of main data, a synthesis was made according to the objectives and conclusions/considerations found. Results: The data showed that aeromedical care is of great value in reducing mortality in cases of critically ill neonates, but that there are still challenges for expanding and training the team. Conclusion: it was concluded that there is a knowledge gap in the literature on neonatal care and that primary studies are needed to deepen the theme.
