Characterization of risk pregnant women in Caucaia

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the profile of pregnant women who became pregnant after 35 years of age in the city of Caucaia, located in the metropolitan region of Fortaleza, Ceará. The method used was an exploratory quantitative study, which had as a field of collection the SINASC (Live Births Declarations) of the metropolitan region. The results obtained were high in relation to adherence to prenatal care. The mother's education and marital status, type of delivery, how many prenatal visits were performed, child's weight at birth, child's gender, and year of birth were analyzed to identify the main reasons that may have caused the problems identified during pregnancy in this age group and, with this, be able to implement preventive measures. Data from the years 2015 to 2017 were analyzed, according to the declaration of live births, the results were obtained from cases of "late" pregnancy and without monitoring. In view of the studies, it was identified that many women had no dimension of the importance of monthly monitoring in prenatal consultations, or even of the possible complications that could occur without proper monitoring. Furthermore, it was possible to observe the lack of knowledge about pathologies resulting from high-risk pregnancies and about the risks also brought by heredity, being the most identified: eclampsia, gestational diabetes, and hypertension.
