About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Founded in 2023 by the coordination of the Master in Health Management at UECE (Mestrado Profissional em Gestão em Saúde - MEPGES), the journal publishes technical-scientific articles related to the areas of health evaluation, health care, health management, health policies and planning, epidemiological studies and studies aimed at technological innovation in health.

Submissions of original and review manuscripts (integrative, scoping and systematic), as well as preprints, are accepted in Portuguese and English.

Periodicity

The journal Gestão & Cuidado em Saúde adopts the rolling pass system, publishing 40 articles a year. 

Editorial Policy

The initial submission of the manuscript must follow the standard of a scientific article and include all the submission documents necessary for review (cover letter [if the author wishes]; title page; manuscript according to the template provided).

Articles submitted without formatting according to the journal's standards will be returned to the authors in order to be formatted according to the specific requirements of Gestão & Cuidado em Saúde to continue in the evaluation process.

Original articles should be limited to 15 pages, including abstract, tables, figures and references.

Review articles should be limited to 20 pages, including abstract, tables, figures and references.

After the pre-evaluation of formatting and documentation, carried out in order to verify that the requirements established in the  Authors' Guidelines section have been met, the executive secretary forwards the manuscript to the editor-in-chief, who will decide, together with the editorial board, whether or not to continue the evaluation process.

If the product is approved by the Editorial Board, two ad hoc referees are selected and the manuscript goes on to double-blind evaluation. Double approval is required for the article to receive final acceptance. A third reviewer is invited to evaluate the manuscript if there is a disagreement in the double-blind evaluation. 

There are no submission, evaluation or publishing fees. 

Open Access Policy

Gestão & Cuidado em Saúde offers free and immediate access to its content in order to contribute effectively and permanently to the dissemination and free access to scientific production. 

COPE Guidelines and Anti-Plagiarism Policy

The journal Gestão & Cuidado em Saúde is guided by the COPE Guidelines, a formal policy of the Committeeon Publications Ethics (COPE), which aim to advise authors and editors on expected ethical publication practices and to promote integrity in the field of research and publication. The guidelines, as well as other information on research ethics, can be found here. 

In line with the COPE principles, all products are submitted to the Plagius anti-plagiarism program.
