Abstract

This article aims to present the Portuguese expansion occurred in the XV and XVI centuries, considering the political, cultural, economic and religious at the time. As historical fact, the maritime and commercial expansion has its origin in Portuguese means the conditions that made it possible, so, comes from favorable conditions that allowed its inception during the XV century and its continuity and consolidation throughout the XVI century. Nevertheless, the process of expanding not only has political, cultural, economic constraints and religious as he triggers changes in these conditions, arising from the new cultural contacts of the Portuguese during the expansionary company.
