Abstract

This article aims to think about the establishment of a rhizomatic body in ritual
performance conducted in contemporary art. According to Gilles Deleuze and Félix
Guattari, a rhizome does not begin and concludes, is something that is forever in
between. From this concept, we analyze the artist's body as a means in the
transformation process in seeking to reverse the ontology, new events, ruptures and
structural shocks, unraveling complex and organized structures. Object and subject of
the action, a sensitive body that makes the act an event and an openness to
experimentation. Thus, we support the hypothesis that we are facing not a performing
ritualistic nor body, but the body of a rhizome, which converges the previous two,
putting into discussion of different signs schemes.
