PORTUGUESE MODERN INQUISITION

Abstract

This article proposes to debate with historical perspectives about Modern Portuguese Inquisition happened between 16th and 18th centuries. We understand that political positions, historical time-space and the researcher individuality produced versatility to the object and continues to have repercussions after years. We used references, sources that enabled us to understand the event in its period and as the object of political and ideological struggles. This conjunction with theme and the researcher is evident, providing several options for studies, debates, and productions.
