Abstract

In our contemporary mediatized society, memes have emerged not only as a new textual genre, but also as a communication phenomenon. In the midst of these transformations, the school environment started to incorporate them in the students' teaching-learning process. This article aims to discuss some theoretical-methodological notes for the didactic use of memes in the teaching of History. We cut the context of the First World War (1914 - 1918) as a theme and present a historical analysis based on two memes selected for this purpose. Finally, we carried out a bibliographic review pertinent to the theme and we emphasize our intention to contribute to the debates that problematize the challenges of teaching history today.
