This paper presents an analysis of the cooperative relations of cotton producers in the Municipality of Aurora-CE. In 1969, the political group that commanded the region gave rise to the Mixed Agricultural Cooperative of Aurora Ltda (CAMAL). Its growth took place in the 1970s when producers were forced to join in order to access rural credit. The testimonies of the producers allowed the realization of this research, as well as the intersection with the institutional sources, which allowed the perception of the cooperative experience among the men of the field and their associates.
