This article aims to introduce a discussion about the religious universe in the semi - arid region of Ceará from the religious images used since the colonial period; we analyze the echoes in times immemorial. Hagiography transposition of these saints as a result of the Lusitanian influence, what we call "migration of the sacred". We seek to establish a hagiographic study of the Catholic patrons here adopted and their significance in the process of building a religious tradition that helped produce an idea of sacralized identity to places. Understanding the movements of these wandering saints in the sertões helps to establish a careful look at religious influence in the social and territorial formation of Ceará from the plural creation of devotional forms, spaces now populated with religious images, consecrated by the urban culture that finds.
