Os Museus Orgânicos do Cariri cearense na Paisagem Cultural da Chapada do Araripe
Abstract
In this article, we present an interpretation of the Chapada do Araripe from the concept of Cultural Landscape and the existence of an organic museum circuit in the south of the state of Ceará-Brazil. Besides its geomorphological specificities, the region is recognized as a point of socio-cultural confluence. Identity aspects observed in the museum spaces are pointed out, with the intentionality of transmitting the memory of different groups through intangible practices and material supports that make reference to the collective ancestry. The methodology of this work consists of a historiographical research carried out with the archives of the Secretary of Culture of the State of Ceará and the Casa Grande Foundation, with the aim of interpreting this place as a cultural landscape in a moment in which the seal of the Cultural Landscape is homologated in Ceará and the candidacy of the Chapada do Araripe as a cultural and natural heritage of humanity is proposed in a multi-institutional effort with UNESCO. In the end, we understand the organic museum system as a joint effort to promote policies for the preservation of the region's cultural heritage.
