para uma sociologia do excesso no movimento grunge (1984-1994)

Resumo

O presente trabalho procura entender e explorar as ideias de risco e de excesso enquanto categorias sociológicas de análise. Tomando como exemplo heurístico o movimento grunge que se inicia em Seattle em meados dos anos 1980 – e em especial a banda Soundgarden – essa digressão busca costurar as expressões estilísticas, performáticas e sonoras do grunge a partir de um conjunto complexo de condicionantes sociais e culturais que lhe são externas. Operando a partir da sociologia cultural, tentaremos situar o grunge no quadro mais amplo de profundas transformações experimentadas nas duas últimas décadas de século XX, descrevendo o papel das ansiedades geracionais para a cultura.

Henrique Grimaldi Figueredo, Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora

Professor do Instituto de Artes e Design da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora (IAD/UFJF). Doutor em Sociologia pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP) com estágio doutoral pela École des Hautes Études em Sciences Sociales (EHESS). Membro profissional do International Committee for Museums and Collections of Costume, Fashion and Textiles (COSTUME).

Paula Guerra, Universidade do Porto

Doutora em Sociologia pela Universidade do Porto. Professora do Instituto de Sociologia da Universidade do Porto, Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto, Portugal e do Griffith Center for Social and Cultural Research, Australia.
