Abstract
The semen of seven swine males was collected by the glove handled technique, being used the total
ejaculated. It was separate from each one a total of 10,2 x109
sptz, distributed among the treatments. The
semen quality was evaluated by the concentration (x106
sptz/mL), volume (mL), total of spermatozoas
(x109
sptz), spermatic vigour (0 to 5), movable cells (%), spermatic morphology (%) and spermatic
membrane integrity (%). The semen was diluted in Beltsville Thawing Solution. The experimental
statistic test used was the maybe blocks, with the Mann Whitney analysis, in the Lineal General Models
of Statistical Analysis System Program (SAS 6.03), with a trust interval of p<0,05. Several treatments
were proposed: differents volumes of freezing extender (18mL, 9mL, 6mL, 4mL); differents sugars
(glucose, fructose, lactose, sucrose); different cryoprotectants (glycerol, ethylene glycol, propylene
glycol, mineral oil) and use of yolk egg powdered. The smallest volume in the egg yolk extender used
without negative influence in the spermatic quality was 6mL. The glucose obtained the best results,
particularly in the percentage of intact membrane (25%). Among the cryoprotectants used, the use of the
mineral oil is inadvisable due the smaller spermatic mobility (15%) and the cells with intact membrane
(0%). The use of the egg yolk powdered can be recommended due to your best sanitary quality. In a
general way the modifications proposed by the work protocol they didn't present the expected effects.
