ALTERAÇÕES DE ORIGEM CERVICAL, VAGINAL E VULVAR EM RUMINANTES

O sistema reprodutor é essencial para a sobrevivência de uma espécie e para a produção animal, pois é responsável pelo suprimento de novas crias e produtos, como carne, a lã e o leite. A eficiência reprodutiva é o principal fator de lucratividade na maioria dos sistemas de produção. O sistema reprodutivo feminino é composto por ovários, tuba uterina, útero, cérvix, vagina e vulva. A falha desses componentes é devido a algum erro ou insuficiência de algum dos componentes, sendo muitos destes relacionados a doenças e anomalias do trato reprodutivo. Sendo assim, este trabalho visa compilar as principais informações acerca das características e consequências das anomalias e doenças da cérvix, vagina e da vulva em mamíferos, com ênfase em ruminantes. A cérvix é um órgão fibroso e muscular intermediário entre o útero e a vagina que funciona principalmente como uma barreira física, desempenhando um papel essencial para manter a gestação e também durante o parto. A vagina e a vulva, são uma passagem para o sêmen, protegendo os espermatozóides, e para a cria, no parto. As patologias tratadas nesta revisão
são anomalias congênitas, alterações adquiridas e alterações inflamatórias.
