WHAT DEFINES A RIGHT-WING POOR PERSON?

Abstract

As a guiding thread, we have chosen the question “What constitutes the right-wing poor?” as the key to interpreting the reviewed work, written by the Brazilian sociologist Jessé Souza. The book is composed of four chapters, along with a preface, introduction, and conclusion. Throughout the work, Jessé Souza characterizes who these right-wing poor are — that is, those who, according to the author, in elections such as that of Jair Messias Bolsonaro (2018–2022), voted for the so-called far right and, therefore, against their own interests.
