Adorno and regressive listening in the current of music texts

As part of his participation in the Princeton Radio Research Project, Adorno reflected on the impact of radio on music and its social functions. Only recently published under the title of Current of Music, these writings remain little explored in the brazilian publications. Therefore, this article intends to analyze some of the different categories formulated in the texts of the period, such as atomistic listening, culinary listening, quotation listening, commercial listening and gustatory listening. It is intended to show how these concepts, used separately by Adorno, complement each other in the designation of the standard perceptual mode of the time, synthesized as regressive listening.
