Abstract

The philosophical system of Aristotle (384 B.C. to 347 B.C.) was of great importance to the West. However, there are few contributions to the development of an educational system different from its predecessors, Plato and Isocrates. Because of this interpretation, many find it difficult to observe an original pedagogical system in the Aristotelian body, and only identify a continuity of Plato’s ideas. However, Henri Marrou (1904–1977) identifies Aristotle’s great contribution to education, attributing to the legislator the pedagogical teaching of society. Thus, this article defends the education of the state as the foundation of ethical man in Aristotle.

Diego Andrade, Universidade Federal de Sergipe

Graduado em filosofia pela Universidade Federal de Sergipe (UFS), bolsista voluntário do Projeto de Iniciação Científica (PIBIC), com o tema: biologia, mecanismo e geração vivípara do animal fêmea em Tomás de Aquino. Um dos membros fundadores da Liga Acadêmica Círculo de São Cristóvão.
