Abstract

Studying the notion of proof in Carlo Ginzburg’s works since the nineties and its consequent
critiques made by some historians, this essay tries to illuminate an epistemological moment of history by the end of the Twentieth century and the beginning of the new one. This moment concerns the worries of historians towards the ways reading their research material and its narrative, a fact which paved an extreme critique of the basis of the historical argumentation and its possibilities of establishing the historical truth.
