Cardiorespiratoryresuscitationin neonatal calves andfoals:
techniqueandeffectiveness
Keywords:
Neonatology, respiratoryfailure, veterinaryAbstract
Little isknownabout procedures involvingcardiorespiratoryresuscitation in veterinary medicine in general. Informationregardingstudiescarried out toobtain data onthissubject in medicine isextrapolatedtoveterinary medicine andapplied in on a dailybasis. In smallanimals, thetechniquebecomes more easilyperformedandwithbettersuccess rates whencomparedtolargeanimals. These require more informationaboutthesubjectandvalidationsabouttheeffectivenessofthetechniquesofcompression, ventilation, drugadministrationandsupport post-cardiorespiratoryarrest (CRA). Therefore, this review wascarried out in ordertoaddinformationtoprofessionalsoftheareaandassist in the general supportroutine for newbornsofcattleandhorsesaffectedby CRA.
