Aldicarb(chumbinho) poisoning in a feline - Case report

Aldicarb its a carbamate popularly known as “chumbinho” a pesticide very popular in Brazil, although his use is illegal because of your high toxicity. The poisoning by aldicarb in dogs and cats can be criminal or accidental, being an emergency in Veterinary Medicine. This study is a report of a clinic case of an accidental poisoning by aldicarb in a cat, that dies two days after ingestion. The necropsy was made and the main finding was a hemorrhagic catarrhal gastroenteritis with tiny gray granules,compatibles with carbamate. The diagnosis was made based on the history and necropsy findings that suggests that the cause of death was a respiratory failure.
