Use of doramectin in the treatment of scabies caused by mites of the genus Cheyletiella sp. in rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus)

Skin diseases in rabbits can often be caused by mites. A rabbit, male, of unknown age, was attended in a private clinic with severe itch and crusting in the auricle. The scraping of skin was positive for the presence of the mite Cheyletiella sp. The treatment was efficient and consisted of the use of doramectin 0,4 mg/kg during five weeks.
