Abstract
With this work, the incidence of bovine breeders seroreactive to Brucellaabortus was evaluated in the municipality of Uberlândia, on 16 properties. 220 beef cattle breeders aged over eight months intended for reproduction were examined. Blood samples were submitted for brucellosis diagnosis following the National Program for the Control and Eradication of Brucellosis and Tuberculosis (PNCEBT). A Buffered Acidified Antigen (AAT) test was performed on each sample and seven reactive animals were detected. They were subjected to the confirmatory test, 2-Mercaptoethanol (2-ME), in which three were identified as positive. Concluding that the incidence of brucellosis in the municipality of Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, in bovine males over eight months of age intended for reproduction was 1.36%.
