Skepticism and Modern Fhilosophy
Keywords:
Skepticism. Antique. Reform. Empiricism.Abstract
This article aims to present the resumption of ancient skepticism in the context of modernity in two perspectives: ethical-political and epistemological. It sees it, in the first place, as a point of departure from attempts to substantiate the truth. It goes through three moments: i) the environment in which it was inserted in Greek antiquity; ii) its resumption in the theological-political quarrels of reform and counterreform; iii) its relationship with modern empiricism.
