Abstract

We seek to think about the conflict between Israel and Palestine from Judith Butler (1956-) and Edward Said (1935-2003) in their works Parting Ways: Jewishness and the Critique of Zionism and The Question of Palestine. Our discussion focuses on the notion of zionism as the major obstacle in the Jewish and Palestinian selfdetermination and cohabitation. Thus, the cited authors are situated on the ethical level of the criticism of the state violence imposed by the Israeli zionism in its Project of colonization and subjugation of the Palestinian territory.
