The consciousness as the basis for a freedom ontology

Abstract

This article corresponds to a research whose aim consists of pointing the intentional consciousness, found in the phenomenology, as the ontological basis of the sartrian thought. Analysing the aspects concerning the consciousness, it was possible to highlight its relationship with the reality and, consequently, notice the emergence of an ontological description of being. Then, using the concept of questioning as an investigative tool, there is the evidence for the birth of nothingness. Finally, when observing the characteristics regarding to the nothingness, it becomes viable to verify that freedom and a conscious being are the basic assumptions for an ontology which approaches the freedom as an absolute prerogative related to the human being.

Bruno Silva de Carvalho, Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora - UFJF

Possui graduação em Filosofia pela Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora e atualmente cursa Pós-Graduação em Filosofia pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul. Interessa-se pelo estudo de Filosofia, ênfase em ontologia. Além disso, dedica-se ao estudo do pensamento filosófico oriental, de modo especial na Índia.
