From the liberation of desire to desire free

This article aims to discuss the problem of freedom in Nietzsche's philosophy from the opposition between “freedom from” and “freedom to” present in his tragic work. Thus spoke Zarathustra. The problem posed by the German philosopher seeks, from his diagnosis of the death of God, to expose the Western tradition in his thought of freedom in its character of transitivity to a proposition of intransitive freedom, combined with the creative and affirmative possibility. As a way of explaining the western traditionality of the concept of freedom as liberation, we will bring elements of Freudian psychoanalysis as paradigmatic to think about contemporaneity, especially the idea of desire associated with psychic techniques of rebuke. The Nietzschean counterpoint shows that desire must be excused, that is, free of debt in order to be able to conjugate upwardly with the idea of creation.
