A possibilidade da liberdade negativa: pelo estado, ética e direito

This work falls within the field of legal and political philosophy with the aim of demonstrating that social life is incompatible with a general right to freedom. Through a bibliographical review, Isaiah Berlin's concept of negative freedom is discussed by being associated with the idea of state authority, according to Hobbes, of ethics, according to Aristotle, and of law, according to Dworkin. This, in order to be possible a reanalysis of the value of unrestricted freedom before structures that demand the consideration of another subject that holds rights and duties.
