THE CONSTITUENT ROLE OF CONFLICTS AND ITS IMPORTANCE FOR STRENGTHENING THE DEMOCRATIC TISSUE

Machiavelli, in the analysis of moods, presupposes the opposition of the desires that mobilize men to obtain conflicting goals. This dispute gives rise to competition between men and the political forces involved. Would it be possible for a collectivity between the great and the people? Machiavelli stresses the constituent role of conflicts by inscribing the order of the law in the disorder of dissent, concluding that freedom is born out of this disunity. The article analyzes the role of conflicts between the great and the people in the construction of political relations, contextualizing important events in the history of Brazil, emphasizing the importance of popular engagement as a way of balancing forces in the political sphere.
