However, a pastor named Silas Malafaia and the evangelical caucus were against the approval by stating that the project threatened the right of expression and religious freedom thus interesting to comprehend discourses by the pastor against the approval of the project that aimed to criminalize homophobia. For that reason, this study analyzes the participation in Brazilian TV programs from a channel known as SBT, in the Federal Senate, and a manifestation elaborated by the pastor in 2011. Moreover, the research also highlights the main points of the project in the Congress Chamber and the Senate, the individuals that were important in this process as well as Iara Bernardi who created the project, and the LGBT community.

2024-03-18T00:00:00-03:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Maria Aline Silva Carvalho https://revistas.uece.br/index.php/revistahistoriaculturas/article/view/8111 LOBISOMENS E LICANTROPIA: CRUZANDO E INTERCONECTANDO PRÁTICAS 2022-03-25T08:38:57-03:00 Francisco Wellington Gomes Filho wellingtongf20@gmail.com Manoel Carlos Fonseca de Alencar manoel.alencar@uece.br
This study aims to analyze werewolf stories and lycanthropy cases that occurred in Limoeiro do Norte, Ceará (20th century) and in communities in France (16th and 17th century). Through a convergence between cross-history and micro-history we were able to trace and intersect a series of variations: similarities and differences between transformation practices, actions and interactions performed by people who transform into werewolves. We could notice that the aggressiveness and brutality found in the French cases is a peculiarity not present in the stories of werewolves from Ceará. These are more likely to produce a fear when confronted with people who cross their path. Uncovering this imagery of the lupine beast between two such different temporalities and spatialities proposed us to understand how each story brings a diversified representation of lycanthropy.
2024-03-18T00:00:00-03:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Francisco Wellington Gomes Filho, Manoel Carlos Fonseca de Alencar https://revistas.uece.br/index.php/revistahistoriaculturas/article/view/8364 O SINO TOCA HISTÓRIAS 2022-05-30T17:38:07-03:00 DANILO ARNALDO BRISKIEVICZ doserro@hotmail.com
The historical study of the chapel of Santa Rita intends to demonstrate how the colonial pedagogical gesture crossed the lives of devout faithful men and women in the 18th century, in which devotions were taught and forms of sociability were learned. The chapel was built around 1745 and has become one of the greatest symbols of the city today, recognized as a national heritage site in 1938 by Iphan. The methodology used for this study focuses on bibliographical, documentary research and the analysis of the chapel's bells in order to describe the daily life of the devotees and the mountain population around this religious temple. The result presented is a description of colonial daily life, its devotions and parties, as well as pointing to the colonial pedagogical gesture as a fundamental concept for understanding this period of national history.
2024-03-19T00:00:00-03:00 Copyright (c) 2024 DANILO ARNALDO BRISKIEVICZ https://revistas.uece.br/index.php/revistahistoriaculturas/article/view/10399 THE CATHOLIC CHURCH OF CEARÁ IN THE CONTEXT OF THE PROCLAMATION OF THE REPUBLIC AND THE SECULARIZATION OF THE BRAZILIAN STATE (1889 - 1891) 2023-03-26T12:11:30-03:00 MATHEUS MARTINS CARLOS martins.carlos@aluno.uece.br JOSÉ OLIVENOR SOUZA CHAVES olivenor.chaves@uece.br
In Brazil, the end of the 19th century was the scene of several political, economic, social and religious events that, together, changed, especially in the religious field, some of the assumptions of society at the time. Taking the years 1889 to 1891 as a time frame, this article will seek to analyze the actions developed by the Catholic Church, with emphasis on the clergy from Ceará, through the Diocese of Fortaleza, during the process of Proclamation of the Republic and Laicization of the Brazilian State, which took place in November 15, 1889, with the overthrow of the Monarchy. To achieve this aim, we will use as main sources the periodicals that circulated in the province of Ceará in the time frame established above, among them: O Cearense, O Libertador and Gazeta do Norte, which were taken from the virtual page of the Hemeroteca Nacional, in addition to some fragments from the republican constitutions, the provisional one, dated 1889, and the definitive one, enacted in 1891. In line with this, we will use, as a theoretical-methodological contribution, the historiographical productions, such as articles, dissertations, theses and books, which discuss regarding the matter.
2024-03-19T00:00:00-03:00 Copyright (c) 2024 MATHEUS MARTINS CARLOS, JOSÉ OLIVENOR SOUZA CHAVES https://revistas.uece.br/index.php/revistahistoriaculturas/article/view/8140 Antonio Mário dos Santos: the debut of a theater director in Alagoinhas (BA) (1964 - 1986) 2022-03-30T23:23:06-03:00 Bruna Meyer Pereira brunameyerbac@gmail.com
This article discusses the trajectory of Antonio Mário dos Santos (1922 - 2002), focusing on his contributions to the theatrical, artistic and intellectual resistance in Alagoinhas between 1964 and 1986. He directed two theater groups, Dias Gomes (1964) and Natureza (1970), in which one can notice certain changes in his performance. Antonio Mário can be understood as a social actor who proposed conditions of access to cultural assets, and who created representation as a black artist, evidenced through art. This paper was based on memorial sources, newspapers, personal documents of the character - among them, photographs, notes and scripts of the plays - as well as flyers, programs and official documents that verify the cultural activities in the city, in the proposed period.

2024-03-19T00:00:00-03:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Bruna Meyer Pereira https://revistas.uece.br/index.php/revistahistoriaculturas/article/view/10522 IGREJA CATÓLICA E A ESCRAVIDÃO DE AFRICANOS 2023-04-12T21:34:22-03:00 Victor Simonselos simonselos@discente.ufg.br
This article aims to present, in a concise and simple way, how the Catholic Church dealt with the problem of slavery in the American continent, especially in Brazil, the last country in the West to abolish slavery.
